گنوایا ہے عقبٰی تری پیروی میں
میں پانی نہ مانگوں کبھی کوفیوں سے
بھلے جان جائے مِری تشنگی میں
سدا فاقہ مستی کا عالم رہا ہے
کیا ہے گزارا فقط گودڑی میں
جو سُر گھولتی ہیں سمندر کی لہریں
نہیں ساز ایسا کسی بانسری میں
دباتے رہے جو ہماری صدائیں
وہی لوگ مارے گئے خامشی میں
میں کرتا رہوں خدمتِ خلق ہر دم
کٹے زندگانی اِسی نوکری میں
