فرقت کی اذیت سے گزرنا ہی پڑے گا
انجام بھلا ہجر کا الفت کا عمق ہو
کچھ روز مگر دل کو تڑپنا ہی پڑے گا
اُن دور جزیروں کی اگر سیر ہے مقصود
آنکھوں کو سمندر میں تو ڈھلنا ہی پڑے گا
تو ڈھونڈنے نکلے گا اگر کھوئے نشاں پھر
صحرا کی ہواؤں میں بکھرنا ہی پڑے گا
اس شخص کی تعریف میں لکھنا ہے حبیب اب
اس بار قلم تجھ کو بدلنا ہی پڑے گا
