انچ آنے نہ دی اس چمن پر کبھی
چاہے خود جس قدر ہم اجڑتے رہے
ایک گھر کی حفاظت کی تھی جستجو
دلدلوں گھاٹیوں میں اترتے رہے
راحتیں اور آسائشیں وار کر
رب کی جنت کی خاطر سنورتے رہے
ایک دلکش حسیں داستاں کے لیے
خون سے صفحہ ِ وقت بھرتے رہے
ہم بچاتے رہے طائرانِ شجر
اور فضاؤں میں ہم خود بکھرتے رہے
دشمنوں دوستوں کی ملامت رہی
رنگ تنقید سے ہم نکھرتے رہے
دیکھو لوگو عجب آن اور شان سے
کیسے زندہ رہے کیسے مرتے رہے..۔؟
